✒️ Calligraphy & Illumination: year-round classes at the Tannerie Dumas
The Association of Friends of Parchment and Leather is proud to transmit and bring to life two thousand-year-old arts:
calligraphy and illumination.
These disciplines, both artistic and meditative, are taught throughout the year
within the inspiring walls of the Tannerie Dumas, in La Combe du Prieuré, Annonay.
🎨 Learning open to all, beginners and experts alike
Whether you are curious, passionate about art, or a lover of beautiful letters
or simply looking for a moment out of time, our courses are open to all, without prerequisites.
Accompanied by an experienced and passionate speaker, you will discover the basics or improve your skills in:
- Latin, Gothic, Carolinian or humanist calligraphy
- Illumination, with its colorful patterns, natural pigments and delicate gilding
- Work on vellum or paper, respecting ancient traditions
📅 When do the courses take place?
Classes are offered from October to June, in two weekly slots
- Mondays and Saturdays
The sessions take place in the premises of the Tannerie Dumas,
in a friendly, studious atmosphere that is conducive to concentration.
